How Soddy-Daisy Arrests Work
Soddy-Daisy Police serves as the city's record source. The city itself publishes no separate jail feed. Every arrestee in Hamilton County goes to the Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center, per the sheriff's office. So the sheriff's date report is the countywide booking record after any Soddy-Daisy arrest.
The 2020 Census counted 13,070 residents in Soddy-Daisy. Its police department works out of the Municipal Building, which gives the public a plain front-office route for city records. That split matters. The city may hold the police report. The sheriff holds the booking record and custody status.
Soddy-Daisy bookings open with a charge listed on the arrest record. The court file shows how the case actually ended.
Where Soddy-Daisy Arrests Appear
The city posts no daily arrest log, booking bulletin, or mugshot roster. Official records split between city police channels and the county jail channels. Local news covers only selected cases.
| Channel | Official? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| HCSO Booking Reports | Yes | Selected-date county bookings, including city agency entries |
| HCSO Inmate Information | Yes | Current Hamilton County jail custody |
| Soddy-Daisy Police front office | Yes | Reports and court inquiries |
| Soddy-Daisy request form | Yes | Written city public-record request |
| Soddy-Daisy NextRequest | Yes | Online city request portal |
| The Chattanoogan and WDEF | No | Countywide or selected event coverage |
Start with HCSO for booking facts. A news story can confirm an incident was reported. It is not a live roster or a final court record.
Find a Soddy-Daisy Arrest
Work from the county booking record. Then pull the city event report, and finish at the court.
- Choose the expected calendar date in HCSO Booking Reports and check an adjacent date for a late-night event.
- Verify the name, age at arrest, address fields, committal time, charges, and Soddy-Daisy agency entry.
- Search HCSO Inmate Information by last name or SPN for current custody.
- Contact Soddy-Daisy Police or submit a city request for the incident or arrest report.
- Use the Hamilton County Criminal Court Clerk or CJUS to find the later case and disposition.
The county report runs all day. New bookings do not post instantly, though. Intake timing depends on queue, staffing, and priority. Bond, release, or transfer can change the roster too.
The Hamilton County booking-photo section explains why a mug shot exists even when the public text report omits it.

The city's Public Records Request Form routes requests to the City Recorder at 9835 Dayton Pike. It asks for a detailed description, date range, subjects, keywords, and delivery method. Inspection is free, and copy costs get estimated. The form states no booking-photo price or response deadline.
Soddy-Daisy also uses NextRequest. The portal requires Tennessee-citizens verification and a government photo ID for the enforceable inspection right. The Soddy-Daisy NextRequest portal shows that online route.

The portal covers city-held records only; HCSO keeps the jail booking separately.
Soddy-Daisy Arrest Request Details
A strong city request names the full name, incident date or narrow range, and location. Include the officer or report number if known, plus the exact document wanted. Skip the ask for everything. A focused description helps the custodian locate the record and price the copies.
Need the booking report, booking photograph, jail fingerprints, or custody status? Contact HCSO Records at 6230 Dayton Boulevard, 423-209-7111. The office takes Tennessee open-records requests by form. It also accepts them at openrecords@hcsheriff.gov. Acknowledgment comes within seven business days, which is not a delivery promise.
The city police page also lists Thursday fingerprinting, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for the first card. Each added card is $10. Those fees cover a fingerprint service only. They say nothing about arrest record costs.
Note: Ask each custodian only for what it keeps, and keep the police event report apart from the sheriff's jail intake.
Soddy-Daisy Arrest Photos
A mug shot is taken during booking, per HCSO. Its public-information policy describes local-media image access. It says booking photos are generally ready three to four hours after booking. Queue, staffing, and priority affect that timing. The public Booking Reports interface shows no photograph with each result.
Want an image? Ask HCSO Records whether the sheriff holds it and what procedure applies now. Ask Soddy-Daisy Police only if the city holds its own image. The request must tie to the city's own record. A copy run by news outlets or a commercial archive is unofficial. It can outlive release or a changed case.
Tennessee law sets no special mugshot-publication or anti-pay-to-remove rule. The Public Records Act, agency exemptions, juvenile rules, sealed records, and court orders still govern. A court-ordered expungement is the official fix. Private copies take a separate request to each publisher's current free procedure.
Soddy-Daisy Arrest News
Soddy-Daisy has no arrest news series of its own. The Chattanoogan's Hamilton County reports sometimes carry Soddy-Daisy agency entries. WDEF has covered selected Soddy-Daisy incidents, including operations that spanned multiple agencies. Those stories run when events happen. They never list every arrest made in the city. Chattanooga Sentinel and commercial county archives add another angle, since many tag entries by city or arresting agency. Their photo use, timing, and retention vary widely. Treat them as discovery tools only. Confirm any booking through HCSO first. A name missing from a secondary page proves nothing about whether an arrest occurred. Corrections and expungements create another gap, because publisher copies survive after official records change. HCSO removes a system image once an expungement order is completed, yet that deletion never reaches private news pages or commercial archives on its own. Rely on certified documents and each publisher's free policy, and remember that no payment can erase the legal source.
Soddy-Daisy Arrest Custody Stages
Custody moves in stages. A fresh booking lands in HCSO's selected-date report. Anyone still held in the Hamilton County jail shows up in current inmate information and may surface on Tennessee VINE. Release or transfer pulls the name off the current roster. The old booking and court case remain. A state felony sentence can later place someone in TDOC FOIL. BOP and ICE searches cover federal systems. Neither works as a Soddy-Daisy booking feed. The county's 287(g) jail description covered people already in custody on state charges, with federal holds placed by federal agencies. It does not describe every city arrest. The modern facility is Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center, though older material still says Silverdale Detention Center from its years before HCSO took operation; use the present official name on any current record request.
After Soddy-Daisy Arrests
A court file follows the booking. The Hamilton County Criminal Court Clerk holds it. General Sessions Criminal handles misdemeanors and preliminary felony hearings. Criminal Court then handles indicted or presented cases at a later stage. CJUS warns that a recent matter can take 24 to 48 hours to appear, and it may stay absent for confidentiality, sealing, wrong information, or another jurisdiction. Sessions dockets are informational only. Dockets can change on the original record. Search with more than one criterion when the system allows it. The booked charge is a starting point. A final disposition might be a dismissal, diversion, plea, acquittal, judgment, or another formal result. Keep each source in its lane: the roster or VINELink for current custody, the city's request path for the police narrative, HCSO for jail intake and photos, and the clerk for the outcome. That separation keeps a stale booking entry from being read as the whole story.
Soddy-Daisy arrests begin at the county level. The sheriff handles booking, and the courts handle everything after.
